Keep group conversations connected to the same workflows.

Create a new group

Open your WhatsApp connection → Groups → Create a WhatsApp group. Choose a name, a unique alias and participant phone numbers. WhatsApp permissions and provider restrictions still apply.

Register an existing group

1. Add the connected WhatsApp account to the group.
2. A group administrator sends #group=your-alias.
3. The platform validates the sender’s group-admin status and records the group.

An alias already used by another registered group is rejected. Registration never silently reassigns a group.

Use the group in your API

Copy the registered group ID from connection details and use it in the message request’s to field. The message is sent once to the group.

Group limits

Only messages from registered groups are processed for inbound billing and forwarding. Unregistering a group removes it from the platform; it does not delete the group in WhatsApp.
